How to Buy
Whether you are an auction regular or first-time bidder, we are here to help make sure your buying experience is as simple and satisfying as possible.
Here are three different ways you can buy from us:
Leave an absentee bid online or offline and we will bid on your behalf during the auction. We will attempt to purchase the lot for you at the lowest possible price, allowing for other bids and any reserve price, up to your pre-submitted maximum bid.
Absentee bids can be left by emailing directly to us at [email protected] Your full name, postal address, email address, contact numbers, ID and proof of address will be needed to enable us to register your bids.
Absentee bid can be left up to one day before the start of any sale. We will confirm the bids by email. Please note when we receive two or more absentee bids for the same amount, we will prioritise the first bid received.
Fill out our telephone bidding form www.liveauctioneers.com and we will call you during the auction. Available in English and Chinese.
We offer this service for lots with estimate higher than £500. Request to bid by telephone need to be made before 5 pm, the day before the sale. Deposits may be required considering the estimates of the lots.

Before You Buy
-Online catalogues and condition reports
You can find our catalogues on Liveauctioneers, 51bidlive and Invaluable. Additional photos and condition reports are available on request. We will reply via email as soon as possible.
Please note that all weights and measures given are approximate.
A buyer’s premium of 22.5% will be added to the hammer price of each lot for all bidders.
After you buy
-Invoice and Payment
You will receive our invoice via email if you are the successful bidder. Please also check your online bidding platforms for invoices.
Payment for all purchases should be made within 7 working days upon receiving invoices. Any delay may cause extra fees in storage. No purchase can be claimed or removed until payment has been made. Payment is ONLY accepted by bank transfer, credit and debit card. For international payment, please allow 3-5 working days for us to clear our account. -Collection and Shipping
We are pleased to provide packing and shipping service. Please contact us at [email protected] for shipping quotes.
Please allow 5-7 working days for the lots to be released for collection or shipping after payment. If you would like to collect your items in person or arrange your own carrier, please contact us in advance as early as possible. For more details, please refer to our full Terms & Conditions.
How to sell
-Free Valuation for Sale
We offer a free valuation service your items. Please send a description and images under natural light of the item to [email protected] Please provide detailed information about date, measurements, provenance, etc, so that we can provide a more accurate valuation. Once we have received your email, our specialists will be in touch as soon as possible.
-Right to Sell
In consigning items for sale, you warrant that the items are rightfully yours to sell, with no financial or legal encumbrance thereon.
We recommend that your items should be sold at the auctioneer’s sole discretion. If you wish to leave a reserve price, we will discuss with you and agree on a reasonable price.
You will receive a pre-sale advice letter by email before the auction. This will include information of the auction, the lot numbers, description, the estimate and reserve price of each item as it will appear in our catalogues.
Sale results will be sent out within 48 hours after the auction. Settlement is usually made within 5 weeks after the sale, subject to normal business conditions unless the buyer does not complete the payment.
Vendor’s commission is charged at 12.5% of the hammer price, with a minimum commission of £5 per lot.
There are no charges for unsold lots. We recommend that unsold lots are re-assigned to a later sale.
Removal costs will be charged where appropriate.
